An homage to the past... also, it was fast to make since I was running out of time.
With the bulk of my time spent engineering the churro suit, I really had nothing planned for the half marathon. I've thought about dressing up as an E-ticket but never really planned it out. When I was at the craft store getting last of the churro supplies the night before my trip, I passed by the large presentation boards and thought maybe I could use the same kind of technique I did for my Splash Mountain photo costume: board + handles. Didn't take me that long to find a high-resolution image of the ticket book online, retouched it and made a print production layout on Photoshop and sent it online to FedEx Office to print.
Each of the ticket segments are backed by construction paper in corresponding colors for structure and depth. It was a very low-key costume to make with maximum impact. Not bad for an hour's worth of work. I'm actually surprised how many people recognized what I was!
This was actually a lot harder to run in than the churro suit. Carrying the board upright for 13 miles paired with the hot weather was not comfortable. A lot of runners on course told me just to toss it. I AM NO QUITTER.
